Running away

Today’s quick sketches were of Mickey Mouse in Runaway Brain. Although technically it’s not Mickey. It’s been a while since I’ve seen the short, but I seem to recall that it’s some monster’s brain in Mickey’s body, or something like that. Either way, the Disney company has chosen to shelve the short and won’t release it on home video (disc or streaming). Some say it doesn’t represent Mickey in a good light. Some years back it was released as part of the Disney Treasures Mickey Mouse DVD set, and there was some merchandise, but…no more. You might be able to find the short on the old DVD along with other merch on eBay.

Why did I draw Runaway Brain Mickey? Dunno. He’s just fun to draw. My Mickey is a bit rusty and his legs and how they come out of his body always give me trouble. But this was a quick rough again while waiting for my munchkin while she did her painting.
